Once, the finest upholstery leathers could only be found in our great Country Houses, these leathers with their highly desirable smooth surface were enhanced with vegetable dyes which produced beautiful rich colours and quickly took on a much prized Antique Patina. However, the limitations of the early tanning processes meant that the vegetable dyes faded quickly and the leathers cracked and tore as they dried out.

Jager, using the technology of a special tanning process have been able to recreate all the attributed of these fine leathers, but without the original limitations. Jager’s X-Tron leather combines the use of the very best leathers, vegetable dyes and a special hand rubbed finish, which is skilfully applied to reproduce the unique hand antiqued, rich, smooth, lustrous finish of the past, but with the performance required of the present.

X-Tron meets the highest European standards for semi aniline upholstery leathers, Fire Retardancy as per 95/28/EG automotive-industry and BS 5852 part 1 for cigarette and match tests.
